TOOL TO FIX FS2004 AIRCRAFT/SCENERY FOR DX10 MODE USE -

Postby NickN » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:13 pm

Here is a tool that fixes aircraft and scenery textures for SP2/DX10..

http://www.flightsimtools.com/adconvx/

It works automatically if you use it right

It will correct many/most of the issues involved with older packages and SP2/Acceleration

Very interesting, Nick. Thank you for posting this. It will prove very useful to many of us who have been awaiting the remake or conversion of so many FS2004 add-ons.

Yes, it's a payware.
And although the convertion is good and very nice to have, it's not 100% perfect: the aircraft will loose any shine (reflection...gloss... I don't know the exact name) effect.

You mean the alpha part of the texture? that's a simple fix ;D

I don't remember exactely if it was the gloss made with the Alpha Channel of the textures (easy to fix, as you said), or the gloss from the 3D material properties (not easy to fix at all). I never used this tool, just saw a feedback or two on the various FS forums...
