Why do all the aircraft repaints lack reflection?

I have noticed that all the stock FSX aircraft have very glossy surfaces that pseudo-reflect the surroundings. I say "pseudo" because it is clearly simulated and not the actual environment. In any case, why don't any of the repaints that I have download have this characteristic? How can it be added?

Okay, I figured this one out. The skins with no reflection are the smaller DDS DXT1 files, while those with reflection are larger DDS DXT5. Using the DTXBmp tool I was able to combine the new repaint with the old reflections and solved my problem.

Generally in real life planes are not near as reflective as what the default FSX paints portray them as. When you download a paint the painter will usually try to go for a more subtle reflection effect instead of having a mirror for a plane
