VC merging

Is it true that you can only add a default FSX VC to an addon plane that lacks one if the addon is FSX-native? (Can't add a VC to an FS2004 portover, model has to have been intended for X.)

Second question: For VC merging on compatible aircraft, is it just a matter of putting the VCockpit sections of the panel.cfg of the source aircraft into the addon?

Thanks,

Yes, possible between to FSX compatible aircraft.
Bit more difficult than that I'm afraid, have to copy the interior.mdl of the aircraft with the VC into the new model file, as well as adding the appropriate lines to the .cfg file.
You might have to copy the VC textures as well, but not always.
And in the original aircraft.cfg of the plane with the VC, you will have to copy the lines under [Views] and copy it into the new aircraft. cfg.
Hope this is ok  :)

Please note that this is only possible with a true FSX model. It will not work with FS9 aircraft.

I know. It also says that in the tutorial.
