install

i've installed fsx in d drive, under fsx....can i change this name to microsoft flight simulator x, if so, how without screwing things up....or should i just leave it?....thanks

You'd better leave it like this.
In fact, you ca nchange it if you want, but then you would have to go into Windows Registry to change some keys that contain the FSX path, and you would also have to modify the FSX.cfg to change the various pathes inside.
And I believe there are some other CFG files that need to be adjusted.

In the end, there's nothing difficult about it, it's just that it takes some time ensuring that everything is ok. As I wrote in a similar topic recently, I had to perform those operations some months ago because I moved my FSX folder on another drive. This is just like changing the name of the folder. However, I could do it with no problems, just took some time to figure out everything that needed to be adjusted.

I would advise that unless you are very familiar with the registry and comfortable editing it I would not repeat NOT try to alter anything in the registry. All it takes is to get one thing wrong and you wind up with a expensive paper weight.  8-)
