Should I buy it?

I was in Walmart yesterday. I always cruise through the electronics department, just to see if there's anything there I should buy whether I need it or not-- within reason, of course. I saw a single copy of FSX. It had the original Deluxe Edition and Acceleration in it. I think it was labeled as FSX Gold. I remember seeing something about SP2 on the box, as well. price was thirty bucks. I am wondering if I should buy it, considering that ACES is no more. What would any of you do? Thanks for replying...

I would. I don't know if they are going to continue to distribute FSX in any great numbers, but if I had the thirty, I'd buy it just in case I needed a second copy for some reason.
Drat. Now I'm going to have to go to Wally World on the way in to work tonight to see if they have a copy down here.

Thank's HB. If they do, you just cost me thirty bucks. Thank you, thank you, thank you....

It's your 30 bucks, however Amazon.com still has FS8 (not a typo) available, so I personally would not go out of my way to buy it.
regards,
Joe
PS. They have FSX gold for $37 US and they will ship it to my house for free, so I don't even have to get off the couch hehe

Like Jo said ... FSX will be available for many years ... there is no rarity value on that copy.
The whole world of digital technology is moving into a download/broadcast receive model. Music, TV, movies, games ... even books (eventually) ... FS (& probably a MSFS) will be in that format soon. Flight Simulation for home use is not going anywhere. It is just taking a pit stop to rethink and gather thoughts about what is going to happen next.
... & like I say ... FSX is still in print and will remain so for some time ... 8-)
