Help! FSX won't run after reinstall

I recently had to reinstall Windows XP after some suto update it did started giving me the dreaded blue screen of death. So then of course I had to reinstall FSX. I have a step by step procedure for installing FSX and Accel that has always worked before but no matter how I do it, I can't run FSX. It always comes up with an error saying that the MSXML4 SP2 component is not installed and that I have to reinstall FSX to fix the problem. Which of course I have done a couple times only to get the same results. I have tried it before and after installing SP1 and SP2. Of course you can't install Accel until FSX has been activated and you have to run FSX to activate it (at least as far as I know you do). But no matter what procedure I try I get this same error. What/where is this MSXML4 SP2 component and how do I get it wher it needs to be? Since reinstalling XP it has auto updated all the way to SP3. Could SP3 have anything to do with it?

I believe that even if your auto-update has installed the SP3 for XP, you still need to download stuff like the .NET frameworks etc...
Perhaps you're missing an update or two that prevent the normal installation of FSX ?

Oh wow. I figured this MSXML thing was part of FSX so it should be there. Many many thanks!

Okay so when I turned on my PC yesterday afternoon, guess what update it wanted to install? So then the MSXML thing was cured and FSX ran, but I had the problem with some of the graphics like none of the MFDs and HUD would work in the F-18. I have a procedure to fix this and it works but it involves completely uninstalling FSX and reinstalling....again. It seems like every time I have to install FSX I have to do it two or three times to get it to work right. Is this just a problem with XP I wonder? I am upgrading both my decktop and my laptop in the next few months. Hopefully Windows 7 will cure this.

It comes out today. Go get it. Install, install FSX and please tell us how it goes. I am interested to see how well W7 is going to work...
