When I start up FSX, all is fine until I click on "fly now". Even then all goes well until I am looking at my VC and down the runway. The engine is running. All of a sudden the sound goes out, the game freezes, and a fatal error occurred message appears. I am given the option of sending a report and/or restarting FSX. When I chose neither, I am taken back to my desktop. I guess this is kind of a CTD. I have upgraded my graphics driver, deleted my FSX.CFG, and restarted FSX. The problem persists. Does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? I would hate to start all over again. Thank you for any help. Bob K.

It happens when you look down ?
Hmmm... does it happen also when you deactivate the sound (key Q) ? I'm thinking about a problem with the 3D sound... maybe...
