Acceleration is causing the game to crash.

A long while back, FSX decided to get on my nerves and I unistalled it and only recently have I had the chance to put it all back on.

I did plain FSX the other day and it worked fine. Then I installed Acceleration and now when it gets to the blue loading screen, before even letting me do anything with the game, it says 'A fatal error has occured'. Yeah, very unspecific.

I'm wondering if you know what might have caused the issue and how to resolve it. Acceleration seemed to work a while back and then one day it decided to get grumpy and stop working, just like this.

I don't think it is Acceleration specifically causing the issue. Maybe something else?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Did it crash with SP2? I think Acceleration is basically SP2 with a few planes, missions, and scenery.

You mean, installing SP2 onto FSX without Acceleration?

Acceleration includes SP2.

SP2 is also available as a separate free download. http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?FamilyID=204fee1e-f8de-4b21-9a32-5a41a3e27ff0&displaylang=en

It might be an idea to read this before installing it. http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1197380641

I'll try that method then, Hagar. I'll also try and go through and remove any extras like installed aircraft, weather and water effects and stuff like that which are installed programs as they may be causing the issues.
