I bought the dowload version, a year ago or so. If I remember correctly, you only run it once.. it makes a backup of ALL of your ground textures.. and then replaces them with the improved textures. There is no mistaking when it does this, because it akes a loooong time.
Sounds like you've installed the software itself, but have yet to have the software do ITS installation.
Someone will be along shortly to clear this up ..

Yeah.. it looks much better.. especially low-n-slow, but even from higher altitudes.
It would be a waste of money for those who take tubes right up to FL350, and spend most of their time watching the autopilot fly the plane 8-)

How about a screenie or two of something we'd all recognize from an altitude of less than 5000 feet?

If GEX does the same to FSX as GE does to FS9 it will only replace ground textures. It will not add docks and seaplane bases. The sales person you bought it from didn't know what he was talking about...

I purchased "Ground Environment Pro for FS 2004" a Month or so ago...Flight 1...
It was taking so long to convert all the textures, and I was thinking that life is far too short for all this, that I finally abandoned the process!
The program does warn you that the process does take a V-E-R-Y

Making the sets takes a long time, I agree. Installing those sets is just a matter of seconds. I had GE Pro II make 5 sets of each textures over night. Combined with Active Sky 6.5 and it's possibility to put the right GE Pro II ground texture in FS9 it's working fabulous.

Can we go back to Doug's problem now?

Hi everyone...

Well mine is installed and there were four (4) boxes to check off. I clicked all boxes and hit install.
It took less than two minutes and said installed.
I think "Crash" you are right about the sales person.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
P.S. This computer is only used for FS X and nothing else. The computer has enough memory to run FS X and FS 2004 and still only have less than half the memory in use.
