Anybody else having trouble getting the FS Limiter Link to work?  I need it to smooth out things on my system.  The link doesn't seem to work.

What is FS Limiter? What does it do-- in just a few words, please...

I pulled it from the tweak thread.. all the links are dead and to tell you the truth its success was not as high as many thought. It can help but I also found times it caused problems too.

Glad I failed to see it...

I agree with Nick about the limiter. It did allow me higher frames in say my LVD-767 but it also caused stutters in other areas. I must have started and stopped using it several times now. RIght now I am not using it. BTW the August DirectX update seems like a good one to have.

its 6 of 1, or 1/2 dozen of the other.

Best to just tune and adjust based on the aircraft/scenery in use than it is to try and use that tool. The bottom line is that no matter what you use, there will be differences and changes required, therefore its use really presents no shortcut in tuning

and I have never, ever seen i7 make solid use of it. None of my i7 systems use it although I do still boot it for use on a older Intel Q6700 with one payware aircraft over large cities.. thats about it.

I still use it, with my antique Q6600 B3 stepping at 3,7 Ghz (with cold water on!)  - and some DDR 2 Crucials 800 Mhz @ 1104 Mhz ... and it works fine. Just have to adjust from unlimited down to app. 50 FPS,  depending on area/scenery.

Thanks for the chime in there Nick.  I HAVE upgraded to a quad core and to an NVidia 260 vcard.  Guess I'll just start testing for perf and compare the results to my numbers written down when I had my old configuration fully tweaked, tuned and running the Limiter.

If you still want to try it, here it is:

I use it for my system all the time... I do find it weird though, because most i7 systems don't use it... Just goes to show that every system is different ;)
