Can't find my SDK toolbar

Ok, so, after owning acceleration for a year, I decided I'd go ahead and finally install the SDK, primarily for using the mission creator and then abacus' converter to make mission scenery into free flight scenery.

Anyways, I installed the sdk off of disk 1, and opened flight sim. But I couldn't find anything new.

I looked it up online, and found I had to install the sdk kit that came with acceleration.

So I installed the Acceleration sdk, and still nothing.

Any help?

Hi Folks

Airshow_lover -
If your tools menu is not displaying on the menu bar,
please see - FS Developer - Wiki - SDK Installation (FSX)

I followed the instructions here, but yet nothing will show up.

I went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled FSX, then the SDK that came with FSX, then Acceleration, then the SDK update that came with Acceleration.

Can anyone tell me what my problem is?

OK, I'm still working on this...

I tried to run the "ConfigSDK.exe" file, and it pops open a error box saying:

To run this aplication, you must first install one of the following versions of the .Net Framework:
v2.0.50727
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .Net Framework.

So...is that why this is not working?

You should just need the latest version of .Net Framework, on my PC I have v3.5 SP1, you can download the latest version at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/r ... pe=s_basic

You may just want to run Microsoft update and see if it will tell you what version you need to load:

http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftup ... x?ln=en-us

After that read through this thread and see if there is anything in there that can help you.

http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaB ... 542136/0#0

My problem was the the SDK install program did not update the dll.xml file as it was suppose to.  I had to manually insert the code and then I had to have someone tell me how to correct some mistakes that I made when I inserted the code.  Reading through all suggestions and reading through the existing code in the dll.xml file left a lot of questions.

I hope the above helps, speaking from experience getting SDK installed and working can be extremely frustrating, but when you get it to work it will all be worth it!

Hi Folks

Airshow_lover -
.NET v 2 is a requirement for FSX.

From the Flight Simulator X SDK Overview page -
A few of the tools require Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 to be installed first.
Install this from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

idahosurge -
.NET v 3.5 is supplemental to .NET v 2
it is not a replacement version.

Did you start with installing the SDK from teh FS-X Deluxe version?  (I presume you did, only that I did not notice, in the chain of e-mails, that it was specifically mentioned.)
