Most Jets, one or two props

Postby FuturePilot » Fri Aug 21, 2009 6:03 pm

I recently got a problem, the jets, and a few prop planes have strange looking graphics, like there is a tire on the tail, no tire on the landing gear.
One plane actually has a man in a stretcher hanging on to the elevator! Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

Could be that your graphics card is dying

What are your specs?

If you set too high of a bufferpool entry in the FSX.cfg, it will cause this.

Thanks for the help, and sorry, I haven't had time to be on in a while.

To Sub Zer0: My Specs are...

2GB RAM
Intel T2300 @1.66 Ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 with 256mb memory

To wafu448: No, I haven't just upraded my graphics driver. Actually, I hadn't done anything to the pc recently when it happened.

And to ShaneG: How do I set the bufferpool entry lower?

If you didn't add the bufferpool entry from NickN's to the FSX.cfg then do not worry about it. If you did, follow his guide for the correct setting for your system.
A recent tweak of setting a high entry for the BP has caused this anomaly for some, including me.  ;)

After looking at your specs,

Does this problem occur with planes that used to work fine, or only with newer downloaded planes?

I ask because Boikat used to have a  problem similar to this with his lower end graphics card, and I know Brett & Alrot's planes will not display correctly on low end vid cards as well.

It happened to old and new planes, even some default. I noticed something today, I loaded my Piper Cub (I didn't know it had problems too) it was messed up, but I (using the menu) loaded into a new airport and it looked fine!  I don't know if that tells you anything.

I did use the tweaking thing from NickN, but didn't notice any problems right after that (maybe I didn't use any of the planes that were messed up).  I will definitely check it out though, Thanks!

Could it be that your graphics card is not capable of the Advanced Animations setting? Try disabling that and see what you get ;)

I just got back from a camping trip and haven't gotten a chance to try it yet. Hopefully I will get to today or tomorrow.

Ok, I got on FSX and found out that I had already disabled it. So, I guess that wasn't it. Thanks anyway!
