windows 7 x64 FSX crashing

Has anyone else experienced any problems running FSX SP2 on Windows 7 x64 with it crashing?

When debugging it it seemed to be caused by terrain.dll, currently waiting for windows error reporting to send the report off to microsoft.

It's my first night of flying as my joystick just arrived today so as you can imagine it's not great! Seems to be a while into a free flight it just stops responding.

I know a few people have posted about it running on windows 7 but couldn't search anything regarding crashes!

My new hard drive should arrive tomorrow and I will be installing Windows 7 x64 on it along with FSX (on its own velociraptor drive).

I'll let you know if I have any problems

I have the RTM of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it works fine.  The only hang up I had was after initial install when it tries to start the game it just sat there at the 100% loaded screen.  Once I restarted it worked just fine.  Sorry I can't help.  Reinstall maybe?

Hmm strange, troubleshooting problems like this is hard work! haha.

It's fine in lessons & missions, it only seems to be in free flight, yet I was testing my FPS (Ordered a new proc/mb/ram and pondering changing graphics cards) yesterday in New York and managed to fly well over the normal crash time.

Not to worry too much I'll be rebuilding my OS install once my new hardware arrives anyway.

If anyone does have problems please post!

Cheers for the replies guys, useful to know it's not a Win7 problem!

Oh also subZer0 how's your veloci drive?? I've often been tempted to press the buy button and have it as an OS drive, what's the boot time like compared to a normal? Saying this in a few years hopefully SSD should be cheap enough to run as an OS drive

I didn't have any problems with FSX SP2, but some payware addons I have are not compatible with windows 7.  :'(

I can't answer that question, as I've never used the velociratpor for anything but FSX...
