Hi all,
i've got a little problem.
First i sent the webmaster of simviation a mail, he proposed me to ask in the forum.
So, my problem is:
I downloaded the "Robin DR-400" from simviation. Put the files in the right folder, started FSX + Acceleration and wanted to fly with the new airplane.
So, i selected it, but when i selected the plane, there where you can see the preview of the plane, everything went white. But just there, the other parts to change the time, or weather etc. were still there.
So i started the flight, the first seconds it worked but then, it turned white, too. But i could still hear the sound of the plane....
What did i wrong? Or better, what can i do, to make the plane running on my pc?
Thanks all,
Alex

Hi Alex. If you have Light Bloom enabled try turning it OFF.

It's in FSX Display Settings from the Customize option. Perhaps this shot will help.

Ou thank you!
Now it works!!
Really, thanks!
But why? The setting is good for what?
By the way, in german "light bloom" is called "Beleuchtung"

Excellent. Glad I could help. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
I'm not sure what Light Bloom actually does. Perhaps one of the FSX gurus can 'enlighten' us.

That is entirely up to you.

I've read that it can affect frame rates. I suspect it all depends on your system.

It would not be better.
The better is to fly the planes that you like. This DR-400 is quite a cool addon, but it's a FS9 plane, and FS9 (FS2004) planes are not compatible with the light bloom effect as you have seen already.
For me, it's better to switch the bloom OFF while flying this plane. There are really a lot of very nice FS9 planes that work in FSX just like this DR-400, and it would be very sad to avoid them just because you want to keep the light bloom active

I think what Alex is asking is if he should enable the Light Bloom when flying aircraft that are compatible with it, hence my reply that's it's his decision. If he likes it why not?

I prefer to fly without bloom. Most aircraft are 'over bloomed' in my opinion.

Oh I see, I miread his question.
Then I would say yes, definitely ! The bloom adds some life to the lights and reflections in FSX, so if he can turn it on without too much performance impact, then he should enjoy it as much as he can !!
