All the time. Except at night I can almost never see the traffic.

I try to stay in the habit of looking for traffic, so if I don't see the other traffic, I tell ATC that I don't see it

Where's the excitement in that? ;D

But honestly, I do the same. If I can't see it, I say I don't.

+1

I hate when they tell me that when im on approach and trying to focus and now they want me to look for an aircraft and sometimes when I find it its not even near me or even getting close to coming near me either? :-?

do you, when you hear from ATC "something number, traffic is at your something o'clock, number miles, at altitude, plane type. Report them in sight.", just automatically click "Report Traffic in Sight"? I seem to do it all the time. Why? I just can't be bothered to check for it anymore.

:o

Yeah that might have something to do with the fact that its flightsim and not real life. Are you an actual pilot? When you here traffic warnings in real life you'll definitely want to take a peak, traffic Alert less than one mile, you'll be sh****** yourself lol. A mid-air collision in sim might be fun though, has anyone managed to pull it off???

It should be easier to spot the traffic at night, just look for the moving flashing lights in the sky!

I was once flying a smaller aircraft into a bigger airport in FSX. I was on final, and number one for landing. The commercial jet behind me who was cleared to land behind me over took me. He flew right over me, and I got cought in his jet wash. My aircraft stalled and I lost control.... :-[

I just wish FSX ATC would follow the FAA guidelines.. 1000ft vertically and 3 or 5 miles laterally. If its not in or going to be in that space I really don't give a hoot  ;)

Didn't know you got jet wash in FSX.

Me neither ! I do remember I downloaded a pack of RCAF F-18's and when I was right behind it suddenly it stalled at 0kts..
But with all other times I fly in formation an accidently get behind it, nothing happens.

I wasn't looking for a collision, but right after the ATC warned me (TRAFFIC ALERT LESS THAN ONE MILE), I was able to hit the "V" button to get this shot,

Image

By the time I saw it and screenshot it, was maybe 3 seconds, and then he was gone. Closest I ever came to a midair collision in almost 4years of simming.
