Wrong end of the runway.

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Wrong end of the runway.

Postby EJW » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:43 am

I started FSX up this morning and whenever I started on the runway, I was on the wrong end of it.

It's fixed now.

Anybody know why it happened?

Er, I'm pretty sure that depending on the weather, the active runway changes. ;)

Yeah, you've probably selected the active runaway and then changed the wind direction and speed which changed the active runaway ;)

Might have had something to do with the weather actually. Thanks.

What do you mean the wrong end of the runway were you on active runway and put on a diffrent runway or you selected a runway and it put you on the other runway.

I know you fixed it but I was just wondering. ;)

No He was on the right end of the runway for when he spawned, just as the other guys said, i think sometimes fsx weather updates dont get there quick enough. I have started a plane taxied to the suggested runway, then while taxing the wind has changed and the planes are landing from the other side, minor flaw ( anothe rine ) in FSX ai, but still its nice having them their.

Dialing up ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) on your Radio at any time will give you a full Airfield report, local weather conditions, visibility, wind direction, active runway(s), etc, etc.... ;)...!

For uncontrolled Airfield/Airstrips you will have to observe the wind direction for yourself, before taking off and landing...;)...!

...keep a wary eye on that Wind Sock!...;)...!

On this note, I noticed that everytime I make an ifr flight plan departing CYUL, and leave my starting point as the active runway, then afterwards proceed to change the weather to real-updates it lines me up on 06L when 90 percent of the time the actual active runway is 24R. if i change to real world updates first then enter my flight plan and choose active runway will it remedy this?? I guess i should just try it lol. The funny thing is, if I am too lazy to taxi to 24R and just call the tower for take-off clearance they clear me and I take off on 06L without any problems lol  8-)
