Flight plan cancel before takeoff

OK...so I get clearance, permission to taxi and head for the runway. Exactly 12 min from filing the plan, my flight plan gets cancelled. I thought I had 30 min, but the only way I have found to get around this is to taxi to the runway, then file the flight plan.

Any ideas why?
