I downloaded an add-on posted today on SimV. It enables you to be a tower controller even if you don't have FSX deluxe. I followed the installation instructions and When I go to select info in multiplayer, the role tab displayes for one second and goes away. Has anyone else downloaded this?

No, but, and this is a wild guess, I would think you'd have to be in multiplayer mode, logged on, and so on.

This tower controller feature is supposed to be exclusive to FSX Deluxe. I don't know if it's really legal to have it in the download section. It's like if somebody would upload the Goose and the Maule, isn't it ? :-?

The Goose and maule come with FSX Standard edition, but do not have a panel. If you just place a panel in the folder, they are flyable. Why does microsoft put the aircraft on the disk if they are not flyable. They should just be on the deluxe and gold edition disks.

No no, the standard version comes only with the external models and the sounds of the Maule and Goose, so that they can be used in AI traffic. They hove no VC, no gauges or nothing else that allows you to fly them. As you said, you'll have to find a 2D panel to "fly" them, and when you know the quality of the virtual cockpit of those planes, 2D panels are the last thing you want to use.

They have virtual cockpits. I just took the Cessna 172 panel placed it in the folders, and now they are flyable. I see the interior model in the model folder, and in FS.
