Annoying bug fixes..

I was flying the CRJ700, and noticed something. Every version of MSFS has had its little, annoying bugs. I normally just work around them, but it's becoming aparent that FSX is gonna be it, for several more years... so I'm going to start fixing what I can.

First off, for us VC flyers.. the CRJ700 has a problem where you can't select the primary MFD function. The main MFD, where you select between; Map, HSI, ILS etc (I forget the exact options.. I always fly iy in HSI mode) can only be changed from the 2D panel (only the range knob works in the VC). Those knobs are modeled into the VC, so it cannot be fixed. BUT.. there is a problem with the display at the top of the MFD, regardless of the selected format.

It is supposed to display true airspeed (TAS), but if you notice, it shows the same as the airspeed indicator... which is true airspeed ONLY if you have it set that way in realism ([i]and of course we all fly realistically, by INDICATED airspeed )

Oh cool - I've flown the Canadair perhaps twice since I got the sim; partially because I could never figure out where the mode switch for the MFD was. (Well - other reasons too. The CRJ is missing some very important items...like floats and a propeller... ;D ) Before I download the fix, I'm gonna follow your suggestion and see if I can fix it too. :)

Yeah.. I'm more fond of props made to spin by pistons (especially pistons arranged radially)..

Consider that added to the list.  Maybe we'll attract the attention of an accomplished gauge programmer..  My gut feeling is that the dimming can be done..
