FSX start crash

Postby expat » Sun Jul 19, 2009 5:56 am

I have tried the usual config trick, but to no avail. The Sim starts and everything function except Free Flight. I can select any other tab with no problems. As soon as I go to free flight after a few seconds I get the message that Vista (64 Bit) had found a problem and then the sim shuts down.

Any ideas please?

Matt

PS I have Acceleration installed

Edit, it crashes when I try to fly a mission too.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Any recently added or deleted addons ? (basic I know, but it's happend.)

If it isn't that, and everything was working fine before, and you've made no settings changes, than I would think it's a hardware or Vista issue of some sort.

Did you follow the guide on the sticky at the top of this forum?
I do not know if that applies to a 64 bit system though. My other question is did it ever work ?
I hate to mention this but you are trying to run a 32bit program on a 64bit system here.Sometimes they work sometime they do not. 8-)

Thanks for the input Guys. I found the problem. I downloaded Nick's Autogen Scenery and it appears to be a corrupt download, only half the size that it should have been. Lucky for me it was one of those very rare occasions that I actually backed but the folder before installing :o Anyway, removed, reinstalled the old folder and all is fine. Will try the autogen again tomorrow.
