Tree Flickering

Does anyone know a good tweak to get rid of, or at least bring the tree flicker down to a minimum.

"Tree flicker"?  I've never seen that.  Do they flicker all the time, or do they only flicker when you're flying? (There's a ditty in there, somewhere..  )

If they flicker when you flying do the flicker when your flying fast?  It could be that you're flying to fast and the flicker is from your system not being able to render the trees fast enough, if by flicker you mean appearing a short time before you fly over the flickering trees.

But, if they flicker when you're not flying, and they flicker all the time, I think it's still going to come down to your graphics system.  Do you have a graphics card, and if so, what kind?  Also, CPU "horsepower" may come into play, since FSX is very processor dependnant

It's like the trees have a sparkle to them (looks like white christmas lights ) when I fly , only in daytime flying, weird. I'm running an amd 955 overclocked to 3.9 , so horsepower isnt an issue , and using a gtx260 core 216 gpu. I should mention it's all running on a 40" hdtv at 1920x1080. My frame rates are very good , so like you said, it might be rendering. I tried the different picture settings on the tv , ie: dynamic, standard, and movie . The darkest setting which is movie, seems to calm it down somewhat. I'm thinking if I go up to a gtx285 , i might get better and quicker rendering , but not sure.

Ah!.  Now "glittering" I have seen.  That went away after I got a graphics card.  You might try turning off your "Light Bloom" and see if that makes the glitter go away.

Its called SHIMMER

and that is what Nhancer and the setup of it is for.. to get rid of it and knock that annoying shimmer down to a reasonable level

Nhancer must be the correct version for the driver in use

Driver 182.50 and above requires Nhancer 2.5.1 or above

Below driver 182.50 requires Nhancer 2.4.5 or under

NET 3.5 is required to use Nhancer

Nhancer must be set up exactly as posted in the FSX setup and tuning thread and FSX MUST be set correctly as well as specified (AA UNCHECKED and Flitering to Trillinear)

http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_p ... ?TID=29041

The NV control panel is not used to adjust 3D settings. All changes are made in Nhancer

Thanks Nick , i'll give it a go. I mostly fly from cockpit view , and the shimmer isn't so bad from inside the cockpit looking out , but since everything else looks pristine , it still bothers me to have that shimmer effect.

I had similar problems. Maybe you've got your graphic settings too high?
