System Time/Sim Time

Probably been posted before, but forgive me. I bought a new laptop today and have spent the entire day installing, updating and generally pulling my hair out. Also found out that Vista 64bit does not want to play with some of my favorite programs :(
Anyway, I have system time checked in FSX set up and my Vista time and BOIS time are both the same but FSX will not pick up my "computer time". Any ideas please.

Thanks

Matt

Is it missing your system time in 1 hour increments?...or by random hr/min?

Is your default flight in your 'home' time zone?

When creating a flight: On start up the system time is applied to the default flight's time zone. Changing your start location will reflect any time zone adjustments.

System time is not applied to any saved flight that you 'load'. The time is fixed to the time of the save.

I tend not to save flights, so the Sim always starts with Friday Harbour as the default setting. When I then choose a European airport, it is always the early hours of the morning and I have to manually set the time. I was under the impression that the time was a reflection of the local time, ie your system time. The sim gives you that option in the setting menu??

It is, but the sim assumes your at the default airport, in this case Friday Harbour. Start the sim at 10am system time and it's 10am sim time at Friday Harbour.

Save a flight in your home time zone (or the time zone you begin your flights in) and make it the default flight. Of course, you'll still have to adjust (if you want) to keep the sim sync'd to your local clock if you start in a different time zone.
