FS KBT F/A-18: VC glass is black and can't see out

I'm running Team FS KBT's F/A-18E (FSX version) on a Dell XPS 420 with Vista.
Here's the problem: Everything works fine, except the glass in the VC. I can see fine out of the HUD, but the glass of the cockpit is solid black and I can't see out of it.
I haven't tried the 2D cockpit because, frankly, I can't fly worth crap unless I can look around.
The same problem happens with Kirk's F-16 Viper, except instead of black, the glass is this reflective gold color.

Ive had this happen to me, but I can't remember if it was with the same thing. ALl i know is it happened to me with other aircraft. I would like to know a fix to so I don't get so mad and uninstall the aircraft.
So, at least you know your not the only one...

Hi
Do a search for VC Glass or just read the FAQs at the top of the forum it will tell you how to fix it. ;)
Enjoy :)

The FAQ would help if the F-16 cockpit fix link wasn't broken, and the "VC blacked out" entry is an entirely different problem.
And the search function either comes up with my topic and nothing else, or a blank page after loading for 10 minutes.

Ok what you need is DXTBMP, I think. Search for it and download it and then you will need to find the VC texture concerned and invert the alpha channel. That 'should' fix it and make it clear.
Hope it helps

Well the Alpha trick worked on the F16. Except I have to fix this ugly hole in the fuselage where the "Danger Ejection Seat" triangle decal goes >:(
I'm about to give up on the F/A-18E though....I'll try the Alpha thing on it and see what happens.
