Hey guys,
I seem to have a problem with the ATC callsigns i assign the planes, if i choose one from the sidebar it seems to be a love hate situation, i have added alot to the cfg file of atc callsigns in FSX and they all showup on the dropdown bar when you select a plane. But the problem is some planes accept the callsign while others don't. Is it something i did wrong or just the simulator?
Thank you

I may be totally wrong but just adding lines in a .cfg won't do.
I would guess a sound file is also required. A sound file eg. wav able of saying eg. Delta Airlines or American Jet etc.

Simply adding any callsign to the airlines.cfg file will not make ATC use the callsign. The airlines.cfg file's only purpose is to make callsigns available in the 'dropdown bar'. It will not cause ATC to speak a callsign that isn't already 'recognized' in the ATC voicepack (\Sound\ATC\UsEnglishBig.gvp).
You must use callsigns that are 'recognized' by the ATC voicepack. Here is a list of FS2004 ATC recognized callsigns.

If you do install EditVoicePack, be sure to backup the 'USEnglishBig.gvp' file before running the program.
EVP will automatically rename the existing USEnglishBig.gvp for you, in case you forget... ;)

If you have the hard drive space, simply rename your existing FSX installation, then reload FSX and update as desired, creating a "virgin" FSX installation.
Then, rename the newly installed version to something like x:\FSX_Virgin and rename your original back to what it was...
Now you are in a position to recover any of the default files at need. 8-)
