any of the planes i have with afterburners dont work i dont have acceleration do i need it for Afterburners :-/

No, you do not need "Acceleration", But you do need to insure that you properly installed the add-on, including any "effects" that were included.  On some add-ons, the afterburner effect does not ignite  automatically like it should, but is "eye candy" that you initiate with the "smoke" key, usually the "I".
