Give it a try - add the same way as per FS2004, e.g., into Addon Scenery folder and activate it. If it doesn't work then simply remove it. Some things work fine (such as most of the library objects used to enhance airports, RWY12 and similar) and others just won't (any FS2004-version exclude or flatten file).

The particular addon scenery should come in it's own folder (e.g., Airport_XYZ) with two sub-folders inside, one named Scenery and the other Texture. Copy the main folder (Airport_XYZ) and paste it into the folder named Addon Scenery in the FSX main directory. Upon starting FS, using the "settings" option, the scenery must be activated before it will display, by navigating to where it's located and ensuring the area has a checkmark beside it. Restart FS and it should appear.
p.s. - If the results are undesirable, delete the same folder you just added, however before doing so delete the area using the same "settings" option in the main FS window. Otherwise, errors will display when the sim is loading, as it will be looking for files that are no longer there.
