VC Windshields grayed out on some aircraft?

Hi there - new guy on the forum here, long-time lurker though.  I'm in the process of setting up my new machine and *FINALLY* making the jump from FS9 to FSX.  I've installed SP1 and SP2, FSUIPC 4, and a few payware birds (all of which I've actually purchased, before anyone asks!!).

I'm having some bizarre issues.  On several aircraft (CLS A340-500/600 for example), when I use the VC the windshields have a gray texture on them and I cannot see outside.  This makes departure quite a challenge.  Any ideas how to fix this?

My system:
AMD Phenom 9650 Quad Core
7GB RAM
Vista 64-bit
ATI Radeon HD 4800
PFC USB Yoke, Rudders
PFC Throttle Quadrant (via Serial->USB)

Thank you for your help!

Andrew  :)

I have a similar problem. My F-86 works great in FSX, but when I install Acceleration the VC glass turns a shiny grey colour.
I wrote a similar post, but i've not yet been able to find the 'cure' to this issue.

It sounds like the glass bmp needs to be converted using a program like DXTBMP. The alpha channel has changed in SP2 from SP1, it needs to be inverted. Do a quick search on the forum for dxtbmp and have a look at the stickys at the top of this forum, they should help you sort the problem  :)

Hope it helps
