:-? I downloaded the Cessna 310Q today, and when I go to select it in FSX, it is about 90% transparent except for a few features. It was installed per directions. Appreciate any help here. Thanks.

One of two problems (or both)..

FSX not updated to SP2..  and/or  an older, or low-end video-card.

(this is mentioned in the readme)

Everything else in FSX works fine. The card is good (son uses for gaming). However, I noticed that CAN see the a/c exterior from inside the cockpit just fine. It's when I'm looking at it from the outside that it looks like a phantom of sorts where I can see the features (even the a/c number on the side) but it's just transparent (except for a few features)..

Oh, plus it's SP2 already.

It appears to be a Radeon X800XT with 256k memory. Also, I discovered I DON'T have SP2.

I'm not familiar with the X800XT.. other than it's a five year old card.

Being that old, and only 256mb of dedicated memory.. I'd say that's the culprit, even if you do upgrade to SP2. The trouble is that the 2048X2048 textures are too big for 256mb cards. (most FSX models use 1024X1024 textures)

Brand new $500 1024mb video cards can bet tested by FSX.

Something else you can try is to go into the FSX.cfg and look for the Graphics section:

[GRAPHICS]
SHADER_CACHE_PRIMED=1693428480
TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024

Change the "1024" to "2048", and see if that doesn't help.
