Help with .cfg

OKay so i wanna download some new stuff, everything i download says i need to edit the .cfg   however when i go to save it, my computer says  "Cannot locate file info, check the path is right"  so erm HELP please, thanks

Try saving as a new file, then rename it.

I dont know what causes that or how to fix it but this should be a temporary walkaround.

yeah but if i save it as a new file?  won't it not be a   cfg file cause it will then turn into a notepad file??

Assuming you are using vista, seems it doesnt like allowing modifications to files in the program files folder. The way i do it i to move or copy the cfg file to a temp folder in my documents. Then once i have edited the file i move it back to the original folder. Or modify any files before placing them in fsx.

Save as didn't work,

however thank you to Chris, you did solve my problem. Yes i do have silly vista (and i hate it lol) but your idea of moving the file worked easily, thank you much   ;D

simply drag to your desktop then edit htne save then put it back in
