There are lots of free ad-ons of great quality. Here are a few I have enjoyed:

Nemeth Brothers McDonnell Douglas MD 500E

GMax McDonnell Douglas MD 520N

Turbo Charged Cessna 182 (Updated for FSX from FS2004)

I will try to add more later.

Enjoy,
Brandon

Hi

I really like the T-28 on this page.

Now it isn't fast and while it is aerobatic, it's not a light unlimited aerobatic plane by no means, lol.

It is a real pleasure to fly, has nice sounds and a good VC.

I was thinking there was a Pitts S1S (or maybe S1T) for FSX that was pretty nice. I didn't see it in a quick search though, so maybe it was fFS9 (?).

Have fun :)

I guess it really depends on what you enjoy flying. I like the B727 for some reason or the other and use the one from HJG (Historic Jetliners Group). It is freeware and the panel they have for it is great, plus the fact that it flies very well indeed.

So, figure out what you like, and someone in this group can answer your question very well.

THe 2 planes I am going to list very well could have been payware... but lucky for all of us, they arent!

Roy Chaffin's B-25 Mitchell
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?I ... &mark=3840

SectionF8's F-86 Sabre
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?t ... =86&page=6

get the main package, as well as the service pack at the bottom of the same page.
Then go here to get the FSX update.
http://www.sectionf8.com/download.html

A bit of work, but very well worth your time!

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

www.projectopensky.com 8-)
Although if you search around here at simv you can find that people post posky airplanes here also.

Great quality.

...and shouldn't this be in the Aircraft Wanted section....

I'll second the suggestion of that Roy Chaffin B-25 mentioned above...very high quality, even better than several payware planes I've seen.  good stuff!

Hi again

I happened to run across the Pitts Special I was thinking of. It is the S-2S, not S-1. Anyway, it's a nice model and great for aerobatics.

I'm downloading it again now to reinstall.

You can get it on this page.

Here are the links to the pages to the aircraft I suggested.

MD 500E
(Second file down)

GMax MD 520N
(Second up from bottom of page)

Turbo Charged Cessna 182S
(Very bottom of page)

Some more helis:

Bell 430
(Sixth down from top)

Vertol H-21C Shawnee
(Very top of page)

If you want to see more free SAFE helicopter downloads, try Hovercontrol.com. To view the main  downloads page, cligk the "Home" button. Then find the file downloads button on the left side. Some of the files i suggested can also be found at Hovercontrol.

Enjoy and happy flying! ;)

Its slim pickings for FSX/SP2, but there are a few gems that should be in everyone's hangar... ;)

I highly recommend Alrot and Brett Henderson's aircraft models.... 8-)

Milton Shupe's Spartan Executive was recompiled for FSX/SP2, and is fun to fly.

Tim Conrad's GRUMMAN AMERICAN AA-5B TIGER is a fun little aircraft.

Dino Cattaneo's Boeing/BAE T-45C Goshawk is an excellent model

There's a sticky topic at the top of the FSX board, with a link to a list full of true FSX/SP2 models.
