[color=#000000]This thread is being started so everyone can chime in with suggestions as to what you would like to see in FS11

Be it better flight dynamics, suggestions as to menu features such as available sliders/settings to ATC, make your list known here in this thread

This thread is designed for everyone to post their ideas and desires for FS11. Just because you make a suggestion does not mean that feature will be included. This is a place for you to express what you would like to see in FS11.

I will ask that everyone be concise.. no 10 paragraph posts.. OK?

Besides a few ideas that Nick brought up, I really can't think of many things at the moment. I would like to see the VC windshield rain effects brought back in FS11.

I really can't think of many things, and the only thing that I can think of right off the top of my head is that I would like to see the VC windshield rain effects brought back in FS11

Good one!

I forgot about that one!

I would also like to see MUCH BETTER rain and snow effects.. no more "jump to hyperspace" in snow and rain coming at the aircraft in flight please!

;D

"Man, hyperspace always looks so freaky."

::)

APART from what you said, I want lighting to be improved!

That means: objects casting shadows on other objects (when I fly behind a building, I want to see that building's shadow on my plane).
I also want to see light, lighting up objects. When I turn on my taxi light and it shines on another plane/object, I want to see it light up too. Shadows should also cast properly on a slope.

I believe this is known as "dynamic lighting."

LOD Radius for ground textures - when you fly under 50ft, 4096 resolution ground textures display, giving you high definition grass. Above that, 1024 is fine, so we can have crisp FTX/GEX textures.

Basic water physics - breaking waves near the shoreline.

Separate tarmac textures for Western and Eastern Bloc airports.

EDIT: Missed your note on better lighting.

It seems the future may not include the 2D panel unless this direction has been changed.

i would like the zoom function not so limited only going from .60 to .30 it should be a in between part

but thats just me

and all round better textures and not so generic

Microsoft has done a ship sim, a train sim, and a flight sim... and a space sim some years ago. I would like FS11 to be a merge of all, a sim that would simulate any moving thing, on the ground, on the water, in the air or in space, with just one unified physics engine, and one unified world-rendering engine.

Also, it would be VERY COOL if the player would be a human in the sim, able to walk out of the aircraft and enter in it. Just like Operation Flashpoint, but with better ergonomy/usability.

EDIT: good point Boikat => I would like an aircraft damage model as good as in IL-2 Sturmovik simulator.

EDIT2: I would like the sim to load all the sounds related to a place at a time, not only when the sounds are needed. I'm getting tired of the huge stuttering the first time I touch the ground on landings, just because the sim has been trying to load the touchdown sound...

Backwards compatibility, or a "Translator Module" to make pre-FSII add-ons compatible, if FS-II is going to run on a different platform the way CFS3 does compaired to CFS2.

Easy to understand SDK and *all* the tools needed to create add-ons.

Ditching and belly-landing without such emergency landings being detected as a crash that stops the simulation.

More realistic crash parameters.

Nick mentioned flight-dynamics; specifically spins and stalls. If the flight-model is able to incorporate these, I have a feeling it would have to come from an over-all, more realistic algorithm.

While forcing a "sub-routine" to kick in when a stall occurs, might work, I think a ground-up re-working of the flight-model would be high on my wish list. The current model is almost too good to complain about.. but if it were to be addressed.. that's how I'd request it.

*************************

A more accurate modeling of engine parameters... and rewards/consequences for mis-managing your engines; be they piston or turbine. I.E... Take-off and execute a sustained climb with cowl-flaps closed, and the ensuing high CHT would start damaging the engine... improper leaning would result in either fouled plugs, or cumulative damage... same for improper prop-rpm use... etc.

Ideally, in a selectable realism mode... these damages could sneak up on you; stored in a data file; just like cumulative engine hours are now.

***********************************

Multi-player that allows for more than two players to share an aircraft.

**************************************

This item is a gripe, in that it's hard to not address it any other way. There are (and have been going back several MSFS versions) annoying little bugs/discrepancies/missing-functions (mostly in VCs) where key panel functions are concerned. They're only evident when you try to fly a flight from start to finish, realistically, and probably only stick out to a real pilot. I can't help but think that if real pilots were more involved in testing, that these items would have been addressed.

*************************

Those are my key wishes

everything listed and, Region Specific ATC Voices and maybe a built in voice listener so you can actually TALK to the ATC.....instead of the cute little bottled up 1-9 answers  :P

Better model characteristics on emergency landings.

Improved flight planner.

I agree with the E procedures and abilities to crash land along with ATC involved with declaring a emergency. These should go hand in hand with Brett's suggestions of consequences for poor gauge management and wear and tear on systems for mismanagement.

One of the realities of flight is it is dangerous and that should be high on the list of things to change. It does not need to include allowing building crashes, etc.. its about the rewards and the pitfalls to making the right/wrong decisions and knowing what to do when things go wrong.

In my opinion that

Make it easier for users to build home cockpits by including the networking and gauges needed without having to go to so many different outside sources.

It could be a separate "control panel" that you use to put in the number of computers on the network, the size of the monitors you use and the plane you want to replicate. The gauges can then be sized to fit on the separate screens.

Eliminate the need for FSUIPC and Project Magenta, etc. this way.

My main wish: for FS11 to come sooner rather than later. I am tired of all the "when will it be released" speculation!
