Im pretty new to the game i had it a while ago and left it and during moving house i found the box in the wardrobe and have decided to try it again. Ive installed and its giving me this message when trying to boot it up:
Flight simulator was unable to load some program files and will now exit. Please reinstall flight simulator to restore or repair the program installation.
Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing, ive tried the lot and nothing works. Ive seen a few problems reported on forums but no proper solution to the problem. So was hoping that someone could help if possible.
Cheers,
ukmatthew

Hi there firstly welcome to simV.
I think you need to uninstall again from the control panel and then delete everything on your hard drive relating to fsx (as things are left on after an uninstall). There is a post about it on simv, just do a search, sorry I havent got a link for it but it should come up if you search on this forum.
Then check your registry and delete everything fsx related as well. Reboot PC and do a clean install, that should do the trick ;)
Hope it helps but theres lots of experts on here that know a lot more than me, so if my advise doesnt help there will be someone along soon that will sort you out. We are a friendly bunch here. :)
Enjoy your stay

Read this.
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1197380641Personally, I would remove anything and everything pertaining to FSX to guarantee a "clean" install.
As carcher126 stated, they're a friendly bunch here and will gladly assist you. So if you have any other questions or problems don't be afraid to ask.
And welcome to SimV.

Problem solved. Apparently was something to do with the SP1 upgrade and my activation. Ive been given a patch and it works fine. Still rather it work properly though. Ive heard elsewhere that this activation thing is a problem?

Activation is not normally a problem it can be legally activated unlimited times on the same computer, the problem occurs when more than 2 comps are activated then microsoft need to be rung but I think it can be legal on 2 pcs at once so I've heard.
ENJOY
