Airports Similar to Meigs Field

Hi Y'all!  I know there have been posts about Meigs before, and I know it's no longer available in FSX because its no longer in service in reality, but I was wondering if people had suggestions for similar airports.

By similar I mean small (1 runway), adjacent or surrounded by water and interesting scenery nearby.  Also, just an airport you really enjoy, something fun to fly a cessna into, and challenging to land the Dash 8.

My primary suggestion is Catalina Island (Avalon is the name of the city) off of the coast of LA.  It's small and high up on a cliff.  I also enjoy Camarillo north of LA, although that's not a good example, because it's bigger, and not right next to water.

I'd love to hear suggestions from Europe or South America!

Burke Lakefront (KBKL) is very similar to Meigs. It right near downtown Cleveland.. right on Lake Erie..

Cool!  I'll check that out when I get home...  I'm from outside of Buffalo, so that might make a nice flight to my hometown airfield (Batavia)...

That's a cool airport.

I sincerely doubt you could do THIS in real life there though. ;D

Hmm... Really, why is that?  Seems feasible to me...

You know the A380 has a weight of about 360 tons, right? ::)

360 tons + a short runway = What happened to my latest long-haul.

Heavily fuel loaded A340-600 + Gatwick's short Runway 8 = Using a lot of taxiway behind = DANGEROUS. :-[

Sorry for the maths ;D

If you want one, there is a Meigs FSX over at avsim in the FSX AFCAD or FSX Scenery sections.  It may not be around in reality anymore, but Meigs can live on in FSX if you want it to.

Also, Sitka is surrounded by water on three sides and has beautiful scenery.
