XP or or Vista? It makes a difference.

And what do you mean by 'fix trees, buildings'?

If you want to reduce/increase the number of autogen trees or buildings,
then simply add these lines to the fsx.CFG file:

Code: Select all
[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=2500
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=3000

If you want to eliminate CERTAIN trees/buildings, such as on an
approach path or airport, then you need to do that with other tools
that will  generate the appropriate 'exclude' BGL.

All simmers should be familiar with the AppData Roaming folder, in which you will find FSX.cfg.   Use Search in Disk C, check Hidden folders and files, and it will come up.  It is NOT in the same place as your FSX installation.

However and more importantly go into the stickies in this forum, the ones above the line, and you will find many repeats of how to find the fsx.cfg file.

I'm following fly2e's tips & tweaks in the above Flight Sim FAQ's
Operating XP- thank you guys, I appreciate it.  I'd like to reduce trees- add buildings.
