Engine's too LOUD

Postby Brett Hill 2 » Tue Mar 24, 2009 3:50 am

I have the BAC 1-11, Comet, and the Trident from DMFlightsim.com. I love flying these old aircraft but in multiplayer I am unable to hear what the tower is trying to tell me. Yet I don't want to simply press the 'q' key and get rid of them as one thing I cant stand without is aircraft sounds. But these ones are just simply too load. It would be easy to put the airbus sounds in there or the 737 sounds in there but they would just be lousy and would not match the kind of engine's they are. I would download a newset from here, avsim or flightsim.com if I could find any suitable but I cant.

So I wondering if there is any free 'wav' sound editing software I could get which I could make the sounds quieter with?

Any Ideas?

As said above, the engines can be varied easily in the default sim settings.

I have done a lot of editing of my sound files to set up the simpit in a custom manner.  You can easily adjust volume with just the default Windows sound editor.

For a really nice freeware/ shareware sound program for more complex edits, Google for "Audigy".

best,
