Help With Traafic

Postby Eluveitie1 » Fri Mar 20, 2009 8:52 am

Something has caused all my traffic to disappear. I believe everything was fine prior to installing Heli Traffic. My traffic sliders are set to max and no airplanes at all are shown. I uninstalled Heli Traffic and  still no planes. I'm not certain what caused this, but can someone point me in the right direction as to where to look. I am only using default traffic. I have ATX (if that matters) but it's disabled.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Yes that was me that posted the topic. Not much luck there so I tried here.
On a side note, Heli Traffic is ok. I only enabled it once then disabled it when I noticed no planes. I haven't used it since. the lack of AI traffic is really bugging me.

I'm now running HeliTraffic and have no problems with my ai traffic.

I have ATX (if that matters) but it's disabled.

Do you mean FTX AU Traffic? I would guess this is causing your problem.

After installing FTX AU Traffic you have AU Traffic but the default traffic is disabled. You can turn the default traffic back on using the FTX AI Control Panel, which should have a shortcut on your desktop. It's all explained in the FTX AU Traffic User Manual, shortcut also on your desktop.

If you disabled FTX AU Traffic in the Scenery Library only, the default traffic file is probably still disabled. You can check the ..\\Scenery\World\scenery\.. folder for the trafficAircraft.bgl file. If it's still named trafficAircraft.bgl.DISABLED-FOR-FTX-AI you can run the FTX Control Panel or simply rename to trafficAircraft.bgl to get your default traffic back.

Having fun with my HeliTraffic   :grin

That may have been my problem. Unfortunately, I became frustrated last night and decided to do a complete reinstall of FSX. If what you suggested had been the problem, that would have been much easier. I do believe I had tried unchecking all the ATX stuff in my addon scenery, but the AI control panel never even crossed my mind. :( Thanks for the reply though. I'm pretty sure that was it.

By the way, I like my Heli Traffic much better now!
