Postby Excalibur372 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 4:01 pm

I have FSX standard acceleration sp2. This weekend i'm going to get FSX Deluxe. What do I do? Do i need to uninstall FSX or when i install deluxe it will overwrite the files? How do i get a good installation of it?
Thanks

Uninstall any addon you may have installed on your FSX (like, paywares etc....)
Uninstall Acceleration.
Uninstall any remaining service pack (if any)
Uninstall FSX.
Ensure the registry is clean.
Ensure the folder that contained FSX.cfg is completely deleted.
Reboot.
Defrag.
Proceed with the installation of FSX Deluxe, I think there's a topic or two that explains how to properly install FSX and the SDK.
In case the SDK does not interest you, just install FSX Deluxe.
Run it once.
Reboot.
Install Acceleration.

Hi Folks

SimMaster -
Before you uninstall/reinstall anything,
make sure you've first backed up your logbook & Granted Rewards, (the rewards you'd earned to date).
