Incoming Plane Traffic..Is it a bug?

At JFK I got to the runway, and was told to hold position after asking for takeoff clearance. There were 2 planes coming in to land, so I say to myself, it's understandable that I have to wait. then 2 more came on approach. Then 3 more. Then I see overlapping names in the sky on approach and could not tell how many planes were coming in anymore. It seems like these waves of planes coming in will not stop. Is this a bug or is this normal?

ATC in the real world would either send you to a runway that's not as busy for landings. Or they would separate the inbound aircraft to give you enough time to take off. There a various ways they can get you off in a hurry as well and not really affect the inbound traffic flow. For example they can clear you for an immediate takeoff, basically kick the tires and light the fires and get your butt out of there.

Unfortunately FS ATC does no traffic separation. As long as they have cleared a plane for landing your not going anywhere, even if its 5 miles back and is a Cessna going 80kts.

I'd say just ignore ATC in those situations and go on your own, otherwise you'll sit there for a LONG time.

Typical New York traffic, get on the on ramp, hit the gas, and pray to God that the vehicle your gona cutoff, I mean, merge in front of, is a compact car and not one of them monster garbage trucks ;D. But to tell the truth, in reality, I've flew out of JFK (as a passinger) many a time, and some times It would take almost 30 to 45mins before take off. It wasn't to bad if you were lucky enough to be sitting at a window seat facing the runway so you get to see the incoming planes land!
