Where do you turn off the direct X10 preview option?

In the graphics options.
This option does not appear if:
- you are in Windows XP (no DirectX10)
- you have an old video card that is not DX10-complient.

Err then it was not your plane that was blank, it was the whole screen wasn't it ? You will get much better and faster help from us if you describe your problem properly next time ;)

Glad to see you solved your issue anyway. Your problem was that the planes in FS9 format are not compatible with the FSX light bloom. Only the real native FSX format planes are compatible with it.
Nevertheless, there is an alternative bloom effect, which works with any addon of any type and any format. You can learn more by clicking on my signature.
