FSX acceleration expansion missions

Postby scrapiron » Sun Feb 17, 2008 7:14 pm

I just got the acceleration expansion pack. Im trying the new military missions.

Ive tried two of them and both of them gimme this crap of "mission failed".

The first one: "Executive tour". Even when he says "Good job, nice landing" then i goto parking... As soon as I get near the Parking arrow it says "mission failed" There still is one mission parameter "pending" which is "show the secretary all the sights". Well i follow what the guy says to do i show him all sights then he says follow shuttle in, which i did, then land at the field. Which i did...

Second one I've tried: "Rocket launch air cover" It tells me to get the little cessna out of the way out the shuttle launch by rocking my wings so it will acknowledge me. I've rocked my wings so many times at this thing its not even funny.

In closing, This is so frustrating. I have beat every single mission in the basic install of FSX With minimal problems. Does anyone else notice the acceleration expansion missions are more picky or what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the problem on the Executive Tour mission, but on the NASA shuttle launch mission, you only have to wiggle your wings once (the pilot won't speak) then land, and THEN he'll acknoledge that you want him to land.

Besides the one intro to carrier ops mission, I really don't care to do the missions. I much prefer chuffin' around the country side minding my own business... ;D

Ok. Thats weird usually there is a green arrow telling you what you have to do or where to go. Should be a arrow at the runway! And the pilot should say something. Actually we should be able to shoot him out of the sky for being near the shuttle.

At any rate. thanks for your help! Ill try it and let you know.

When I did the nasa shuttle launch mission, once the cessna pilot saw me the other F-18 pilot told me to land. and you can switch the compass to point at the runway. but my wingman did tell me to go and land once i got the cessna's attention.

but some of the missions are weird. i was rescuing a victum of a car accident on a bridge. when i got there in the coast guard helicopter, the cars were in the water under the bridge... and they wanted me to land next to them? lots of glitches in FSX...

Yeah I've noticed. I know all games have problems but jesus!!!

As far as I can see, none of the service packs have fixed anything. ESPECIALLY this one. which I've copied directly from the release notes...

MP:Connection errors, including exiting out of session kicks player out of GameSpy and gives "you may have logged in on another computer" error I get this error all the time even with all my ports open correctly.

Does Microsoft even care about problems with the game? Some of these problems/glitches have been around since the game came out and have yet to be corrected.

If possible does someone have a link they can give me so i can complain to Microsoft directly? I'm sure ill just be wasting my breath but i don't care.

Again thanks for imput guys! :-/

start by choosing what you need help on (FSX under 'Xbox and Gaming') i assume you can figure the rest out on your own. hope you give microsoft some trouble  ;)

Well I Finaly I finished "the Executive" tour mission. But Jesus it is picky. I figured out that you have to haul @ss to each sight if your too slow, it wont complete that section and will still be pending. And if your too close or too far away from the shuttle when its landing then it wont register either.

These missions on the acceleration expansion are really picky. I am not a big mission fan either but when I decide to do one i would expect it to work.

2 monitors are awesome!!! I wish i had 3
