Can anyone help me install the wings of power II B-17 into FSX?

I have an Effects folder which contains files and another folder named Texture.

The other folder is named SimObjects which contains Airplanes folder which contains WoP2_b17g folder.

There is no installation file.

While i have added aircraft to fs2004, i'm new to FSX and have only just installed it last night.

Thanks,

Keith.

The main difference when installing aircraft into FSX , is that the aircraft folder has been renamed airplanes, and placed into the Simobjects folder in the main menu  of FSX. ;)

Aside from that, the process is the same as FS9. :)

Thanks, i now have the B-17 installed.

Two problems though....

The right main wheel has no detail and a bald tyre.

The B-17 takes a very long time to load up in the aircraft selection screen. Loading the actual flight is fine and everything runs very smooth and fast while in the game.
Its just that rotating picture after you select the aircrat thats really slow at loading. Also, when i end the flight, it goes to my desktop for about 60 seconds or more. Again, i think this is because of the very slow loading of the rotating picture in the aircraft selection screen.

Is there any fix for these problems?

Thanks,

Keith.

When I installed WoPII The Fighters it automatically loaded into FSX.

Did you install FSX after your WoPII ? If so,try re-installing WoPII, after you un-install it first.

Its only the one aircraft i have installed from wings of power. Its the stand alone B-17 package.

I have re-installed the B-17 and the wheel problem is gone, but its still very slow at loading the aircraft selection screen.

Another problem with the B-17 that i have found is that the landing lights are very bright when i switch them on from the outside view, but as soon as i switch to the inside view, the lights go very dim. They stay dim in all views after that, until i switch them off and back on again in from the outside view, then the whole problem starts again as soon as i switch back to inside view.

Thanks,

Keith.

Another resource you might wish to consult would be the support forum run by A2A specifically for this aircraft -
