when i start FSX the splash screen comes up then i get a message saying that microsoft flight simulator x has stopped working.
I uninstalled the whole game and uninstalled all of my addons, rienstalled the game and it still crashes. It has never done this before and its pissing me off.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve the problem?

i had this problem when i had the game start up on a default plane that i had played around with the aircraft.cfg file, are you sure you deleted all the aircraft folders/planes or at least moved their folders for now, during the uninstall and reinstall? it might be going to look at that plane and its corrupt and cant go anyfurther.

Hello,
You will need to give more details :)
1. What version of FSX (SP1/2, Accel)
2. What version of Windows
3. CPU & graphics card
4. Any detais on the error message like a number etc.
5. Is this now a completely unmodded FSX?
For a start grab the freeware Systernals Process Monitor. Start it up and then stat FSX and view the process monitor. It shows exacty whats loading and could provide a clue.

I had this problem before I joined this forum and I will go back in my email archive and see if I can find the solution I was given.

I found the solution, im posting my solution for others who may have this problem or may have a probelem in the future.
It seems as apart of one of microsofts update for vista, it installed a program called tunebite. Just go to control panel and unistal programs and then un install the program tunebite.
Hope this helps.

Thnx. Been through 2 repairs and 2 full uninstalls. Soon as Tunebite was gone started right up. Never would have thought about that.
