Although my new i7 940 is great I have been having a problem, well what I thought was a problem at least. I had My scenery set at max, autogen at very dense, all sliders on the left maxed except water and when using my Track IR the head movement was jerky even though I was able to more or less stay locked at 30 FPS. I fought this most of the day and finally found a solution. Thanks to a friend here with helping me with a profile which helped alot the thing that smoothed it out even more was ready for this ......

I have been posting it for years... with FSX higher does not always mean worse

the way the software is designed it tends to push the hardware better when the user asks it to assuming the hardware is there to do the job to begin with

Yes it make sense... just like the guy over at AVSIM balking at 10FPS stuttering on a new i7 system with all the sliders low

I told him to jack it up based on my tuning guide and FPS went into the 30's with no stutters

track IR is known for problems too..

The same thing goes on in my sim on most settings with my AMD Dual core. I can max everything (no traffic and low cloud coverage) with high autogen with 20fps at a 1680 res! I get equal FPS when lowering the settings and even if I shut down all sliders, I still don't get good framerates.
