All over the globe or in a certain place or places? When did it start doing this? I'm not an expert on this, but that is a very vague description.

when i updated to Service packs 1&2 it stopped and wont revert

maybe the terrain.cfg got screwed up? if I'm right, deleting it and doing a repair from the FSX-disc will refresh the cfg (though no warranty - I don't have SPs)  :-X
