Just an info topic to inform you that the new Fiat G.18 recently released at SimOuthouse by Manuele Villa and some other members is fullly compatible with FSX Acceleration.
The plane is a FS9 plane, so FS niners will love it.
For the FSX folks, the plane has no texture transparency issue at all. Only the traditionnal "props and windows behind coulds and scenery", but nothing critical. This plane has a very nice exterior model and and outstanding virtual cockpit with beautifull custom gauges, as you can see:

How to install in FSX
Installation is rather simple.
- 1- download the file g18_v01.zip at SimOuthouse.com, section FS2004 addons.
- 2- extract this archive to a tempary folder
- 3- move the content of the GAUGE folder to the PANEL folder of the plane
- 4- create a text file, name it "texture.cfg" and paste the following text in it:
- Code: Select all
[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.common
- 5- copy this texture.cfg to each texture folder of the plane
- 6- depending on the performance of your computer, choose the folder COMMON_TEXTURES or COMMON_TEXTURES_lowres, and rename it to "texture.common".
- 7- the aircraft.cfg uses the A2A 3D lights. Those like myself who do not own them, edit the aircraft.cfg and replace the content of the [lights] section with the following lines.
- Code: Select all
light.0 = 3, 3.54, -36.45, -1.12, fx_navredsm
light.1 = 3, 3.54, 36.45, -1.12, fx_navgresml
light.2 = 3, -40.33, 0, 2.8, fx_navwhisml
light.3 = 4, 15.97, -1.19, 2.53, fx_vclight
light.4 = 5, 2.72, -26.67, -2.74, fx_landing
light.5 = 5, 2.72, 26.67, -2.74, fx_landing
- 8- Move the folder of the aircraft to your Simobjects\airplanes\ folder
Voila it's done. One more time, those who have bought the A2A 3D lights do not need to perform step 7.
