Hi, I've downloaded and installed Dave Garwood's Beaufighter for FSX but when I run it only the interior is visible, not the aircraft itself. Can anyone help.
I've got a screenshot but don't know how to add it. (I'm new)

Hi Dave. To post a screenshot you first have to upload it to the server. The Upload Images link is on the menu at the top of the page. Read the instructions carefully.

There is a problem with the download, when I tried to get it it it gave me disc one of a set error and then locked my computer up. Had to kill the power to it to get it working again. Even the manual reset would not work. Think the webmaster should have a look at it. Has anyone else tried to d/l it today?

I had the same problem.  At first, it was thought to be my lack of a video card, and that was a problem because the problem was that the aircraft in question used 2028 X 2048 DDS for it's textures.

But...

A couple of weeks ago, someone had some sort of question about graphics, and domeone (I think it was NickN) posted a tidbit about changing a line in the FSX.cfg in the [Graphics] section:

Change the value for the line TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=1024 to TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=2048

That seems to work, it made the "problem planes" visable, but every once in a while, it reverts to "1024" for some reason, and I have to go back and change it again.

It resets each time you change a graphics setting.

Hmmm, if by "graphics setting" you mean display size, I haven't messed with that in ages, but I had to redo the line just yesterday.  Or do you mean when I change anything on the graphics control panels?

If the latter, I'm not touching them any more. :P

Problem sorted...
I e-mailed Dave Garwood & he said to install SP2.

I uninstalled FSX, re-installed it and added SP1 & then SP2 seperately.
Re installed the Beaufighter & hey presto..

Try it. This aircraft is superb and thanks to all for your help and advice.

I meant "if you change any setting in the game options, general graphics, plane graphics, scenery, AI or weather". Each time you go to the options, the settings in the FSX.cfg are readjusted to the current values of the game.

Just wondering, what do you mean by 'I meant'? :D
