Neat trip. My first trip was simply flying to and landing in all 48 States. My next trip was flying to and landing at 49 state capitols (AK). Now my current trip is flying to the 50 busiest airports, starting with 50 and working my way down to #1. I'm having to layover at some airports enroute on this trip though. I'm flying in a Lear 45.

i wanted to fly around the world, but the only plane i find i can do it in is a jet, which i realistically could never do. Piston planes would require far too many refuelings, and several 4 to 6 hour high altitude flights, and trying to stay real, thats now realistic for me on a simulator. some legs i would have to put the plane at a slow pace at a high altitude, and go to bed and wake up 6 hours later before i ran out of fuel and still have no airport within range.

So i chose a fast piston driven plane and am sticking to 2 to 3 hour legs, which is about the most i can fly, based on my girl friends bladder, she refuses to fly wearing a diaper, she will only wear one behind closed doors.

15 Jan 2008 09:00 Departed (KRAP) runway 14 for Nebraska. 11:00 on final for (KIBM), I was going to take a picture facing west of the Rocky Mountains prior to landing, however.
15 Jan 2008 13:20 In the air again about 50 miles north of (KDDC) a storm is near, will have to make an ILS approach, I choose to try a DME arc from the POKPE intercept. I have VOR 1 set to the Localizer freq of 111.7, and VOR2 set for 108.2, and will fly to the 269 radial which is 14 miles from the DDC VOR. At 4600 feet, when I reach the 315 radial, I will turn towards the airport runway heading of 146 deg. And fly down the glide slope as per the DDC ILS RWY14 plate.
15 Jan 2008 17:00 Dinner was nice. Headed south to (KTUL)for the evening.

sure, but i will have to hit it on my way back, im going to hit Texarkana where i was born also, but not till i head back west.

In microsoft streets and trips i selected an airport in each state, and picked my moms house (northern califonia) as my start point, and my house (arizona) as my end point, and choose optimize, and it took about 30 minutes to find the shortest path (driving) that included all 48 points.

then i looked at each point and picked a better airport that had something significant as opposed to the shortest distance.

here is yoru airport plate in the mean time

Here is my anticipated path
