Another Problem

Postby AussiePilot » Wed Jan 14, 2009 5:18 am

I know had a problem before but this ones just a small one and I think I might just tackle all my problems at once.

Well, anyway, its just when I have my strobe lights on they are just gray squares flashing instead of the actual thingy (Hmm, very technical i know). I'm not sure if its the texture or the effect file or what. Should I just use the fsx disk and do repair (If it can be done)?

Thanks again. ;)

I sometimes used to see that, but only when the computer had to render the strobe light (ie. switch views, when the strobe light is seen).

It'd go away after a second or something though. Have you attempted a restart of the sim?

Yeah its there all the time. Even in the VC in some planes (mostly smaller ones) you can see the gray squares flashing about. Ive restarted the sim many times and it started about 2-3 months ago, so I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks for your reply! ;D

Might be a corrupted texture file...

I'm not sure, if this will work, but try downloading the Airport Environment Light (or something like that) from one of the first pages of FSX scenery here at SimV.

It contains an updated halo.bmp, a texture file used for lights.

Not sure, if it works, but it's worth a try :)

Yeah I've already downloaded it before (not to try to help the problem, but because it looked cool :D)and it didn't seem to make a difference. Hmm.

Thanks for your help! ;D
