In FSX or real life?

In FSX, just do the "Lessons", and after you complete each checkride, you should gain certifications. The very first checkride should set you up fine and dandy with a PPL.

...as in real life, 40 hour instruction (35 if with Part 141), passing all (actually, from what a buddy of mine, its actually most...hes not the sharpest pencil in the box :P) of your written exams, a cross country solo, and the checkride and then you get your PPL. Takes lots of time and costs lost of money.

Remember, here in the US, 40 hours is just a minimum requirement. It depends on the person

dont worry about a license, the first question on the test is how to spell it.

it will cost about $8000, and take a minimum of 3 months, then when you get your license, it will cost at least $75 bucks an hour to rent a plane. so unless you have lots of disposable money, use the time and money chasing tail.

If you're talking FSX, no, just the checkride, but I suggest doing them anyway.

They provide great practice, and basis for the checkride.
