Hello All,

I was wondering if it would be better to install FSX on Vista or XP.

Here are my system specs:

Vista Home Premium (32bit)
Gateway GT5468
Intel MoBo (DG31PR)
Dual Core Intel 2.33 E6550 1600FSB
4GB A Data DDR2 PC 2700  Ram (800Mhz)
PNY Nvidia 8800 gts (320)MB
400GB WD HD

I notice that XP only recognizes a portion of my of (about 3.4) to be exact.

So, I am thinking that FSX would run better on Vista.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!!! ;D

Its the 32bit OS that does not recognize the memory and if you are using the cache edits I posted for Vista or XP

http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 959973/3#3

the MOST the OS will be able to use is 3.2-3.4GB

A 64bit OS is needed for all 4 (or greater) to be recognized and used

If you think your frames are going to jump through the roof by using one or another, thats false

Performance in ANY OD depends on YOU setting up the system, OS and FSX right

However Vista does suck more resources than XP so if I were you I would stay right where you are till Windows 7 is released

do as Nick says.. if you're on XP, stick to it until Windows 7 at least... I'm sticking to XP until Windows7 proves itself worthy
